We started Roamly out of frustration — and a belief that travelers deserve better than pay-to-play rankings and sponsored results dressed up as recommendations.
Why we built this
We love to travel. Over the years we've planned trips to a dozen countries ourselves — and every single time, the planning process was exhausting.
You spend hours on travel sites only to realise the top results are sponsored. You search for honest restaurant recommendations and get a list curated by whoever paid for placement. You try to find a hidden gem and end up at a tourist trap with a slick marketing budget. Reviews are filtered, rankings are bought, and the sites that are supposed to help you feel like they're quietly working against you.
And the fragmentation makes it worse. Switching between five different apps and tabs just to plan a single trip — cross-referencing, second-guessing, trying to work out what's genuinely good versus what just had money behind it. No neutral source. No real local insight. No honest answers.
We looked for a travel platform that was end-to-end, unbiased, and actually built for the traveler — not for advertisers. We couldn't find one.
So we built one.

Rankings are for sale
Most travel platforms allow businesses to pay for higher visibility — either directly through ads, or indirectly through affiliate fees. The result is a ranking that reflects marketing budgets, not traveler experience.
Reviews can't be trusted
Incentivised reviews, fake five-stars, and suppressed negatives are everywhere. When you can't tell a real review from a planted one, the whole system loses its value — and traveler trust collapses with it.
Planning is fragmented
Research happens on one site, reviews on another, booking on a third, and the itinerary in a spreadsheet. Nothing connects. You lose hours stitching it together — and still aren't sure if the choices are actually good.
