Frequently Asked Questions
Roamly is built around trust — real traveler insight, no pay-to-play rankings, and clear rules that protect neutrality.
General
What is Roamly?
Roamly is a planning-first travel platform where travelers share authentic reviews and tips, explore place pages, generate AI-powered guides, and build itineraries—without pay-to-play rankings.
What makes Roamly different from other travel sites?
Most travel platforms are optimized for bookings and advertising. Roamly is optimized for trust: businesses can’t buy higher placement, and our goal is to highlight real experiences over marketing noise.
Want the full philosophy? Read the Neutrality Policy.
How do I sign up?
Click Create Account in the header, set up your profile, and you can start browsing reviews, saving places, and generating guides.
Is Roamly free?
Yes. Roamly is free to use. Some advanced planning features (like higher guide limits and certain exports) may be part of a paid traveler plan (see below).
Reviews & trust
Do you pay for reviews?
No. Roamly does not pay for reviews, and we do not allow “review-for-perks” arrangements. We spotlight helpful contributors with badges and community recognition—not cash or gift cards.
How do you handle fake or incentivized reviews?
We take this seriously. We use a combination of moderation, anti-spam checks, and community feedback to detect manipulation. Content that appears fake or incentivized may be removed.
What types of reviews can I submit?
You can submit quick reviews (single place/experience) or fuller trip-style reviews with photos and context, depending on what the review flow supports for that location/category.
How long until my review is approved?
Many reviews post quickly, but some may require manual review. If approval is required, most are processed within 48–72 hours.
Planning, guides & the planner
How does guide generation work?
You provide your destination and preferences. Roamly generates a planning-first guide you can use as a starting point, then you can refine it inside the planner.
Can I build and save an itinerary?
Yes. You can save trips to your account, organize events by day, and keep everything in one place.
Where should I start if I’m new?
Start by exploring reviews, then open a place page to see what travelers are saying. When you’re ready, generate a guide and move it into the planner.
Suggested starting point: Browse reviews.
How many guides can I generate?
- Free: 1 guide / month
- Roamly Plus: Higher limits (and additional planning features)
(Exact limits and features may evolve as we learn what travelers find most useful.)
For businesses
What does it mean to “claim” a business profile?
Claiming verifies that you represent the business and unlocks tools like managing your profile details, uploading photos, responding to reviews, and (as the platform grows) analytics and insights.
Can businesses pay for better rankings?
No. Businesses can’t buy placement in “Top Picks” or influence trust-based rankings. Paying customers get tools and verification—not preferential ratings.
What can a claimed business do right now?
- Edit key business details
- Upload photos
- Respond to reviews
- Request verification (badge)
- View basic performance/engagement signals (as available)
We plan to expand the business toolkit significantly over time.
Why would a business pay for this?
The goal is simple: help great businesses get rewarded for consistency and customer love—without gaming an ad auction. Verification, reputation management, and insights into traveler sentiment are the long-term value.
Will there be “Founding Businesses”?
Yes. Founding Businesses will be publicly visible and recognized from day one. Early cohorts may receive discounted pricing while Roamly proves out the model.

We accept major credit cards via Stripe.
